4th of July Feast
For the 4th of July, we were so very fortunate to be able to go to a friend's house for fireworks and fabulous food. These friends - Michael & Cindy - are amazing hosts and Michael is one of the best chefs I know. Maybe only second to my dear spouse. Although, after you see this, you may disagree and classify him as the tops.
Check it out - we had all manners of shellfish: crab, mussels, and clams. The crab was tossed in garlic-butter and oven-fried.
The clams were boiled (not pictures) and the mussels were cooked on a hot cast-iron skilled on the cooktop.
He also grilled up some mighty fine corn and green beans.
And naturally, a fine meal is not complete without dessert. In this case, our lovely host made peach souffle. Delicious!
