Back from the Land of the Rising Sun
Yep, we're back from Japan and what a wonderful time it was!
And a good time for food, too. The Japanese are into eating and that's something I can certainly respect. They have nice rituals, such as the warm towel to cleanse your hands before eating, and serving others tea and sake. They also have vending machines everywhere. No, really, everywhere. Nobody should ever go thirsty or hungry in Japan. Assuming they have some change, of course!
Another curious phenomenon which was quite prevalent is having plastic food in glass cases outside the restaurant. This was popular especially with sushi restaurants and noodle houses, but also extended to steak houses and almost any type of cuisine.
