Thanksgiving in Japantown
Yep, we traveled all the way to San Francisco for Thanksgiving. And ate burgers and fries on Filmore (awesome Killer Kobe at Harry's bar!) because most of Japantown was closed down. Go figure - we didn't think the Japanese celebrated Thanksgiving.
On Friday, however, we ate at Bushi Tei and it was amazing! We went for the 5-course tasting menu and every course was fantastic. I apologize for (1) I did not get photos of all 5 courses because they were so delicious I had to dive right in, and (2) the photos I did get were really whited-out by the flash. But you get the idea. Course 1 was mackerel, course 2 (not picture) was a really good sausage made from some type of dove, Course 3 pictured but not well was fish over butternut squash risotto, Course 5 (not pictured) was wagyu beef, and the last course (pictured) was a chai-tea creme brulee. All were amazing!
